Old villages and culture
Discover Alta Val Marecchia
A valley of castles, old villages and amazing landscapes, this is the Val Marecchia. The inland of Rimini, traced by the Marecchia river, is characterized by rolling green hills with small typical medieval villages such as: Badia Tedalda, Pennabilli, Talamello, Novafeltria, San Leo, Torriana, Verucchio, Santarcangelo di Romagna and Rimini.
This is a land rich in history and culture, mainly marked by the vicissitudes of one of the most influential families of the Middle Ages, the Malatesta. Indeed they are the authors of the main civil engineering and building constructions, villages, castles and infrastructures that can still be observed today and that characterize the Val Marecchia.
Verucchio and L’Oste del Castello are the perfect starting point to discover the beauty of this land. In addition to history you can enjoy the relaxation or trekking in the Nature, a valid alternative to the most lively sea life that you can enjoy on the entire Rimini coast, only a few kilometres away.
